Meet Your Instructor

Bethany Walker is a veteran educator and curriculum designer with over 25 years of experience teaching and leading in multilingual, international school environments. She has taught in the U.S., Tajikistan, and online settings around the world — helping students from diverse language backgrounds gain the fluency and confidence they need to succeed in academic English. As Curriculum Director at an International Online school, Bethany has led the development of rigorous, engaging online courses, including AP and dual-credit offerings. She specializes in literacy instruction, ESOL strategies, and building teacher-friendly tools that actually work in real classrooms. Bethany created the Fluency placement assessment to give teachers a practical, research-informed way to identify the right starting point for each student’s language journey.
